Assigning sounds to pad from a kit imports Channel No

I think this is new since the update - If you have Pad 8 set to to ‘Channel 8’ and you are trying out assigning sounds from a kit (like the ones included) it also imports the channel number and alt. channel number. This is not desired behaviour please make it stop!
It wrecks my carefully considered channel assignments. I can’t see the benefit? If I’m trying out 20 samples on that pad I’m constantly having to re-assign the pad back to where it was.
