What do I need to do, to have the S2400 accept mtc from a Tascam S2400 directly?

hi there.

i have been using the s2400 in combination with studio one on my mac, the s2400 receiving the clock through its din midi. (passing it on to my koma sequencer. that’s all i need, really.

but i don’t like working with a computer, so i got myself a tascam model 24 multitrack recorder.
i have finally been able to get the gear in sync, but only through the mac, using reaper (letting it run empty on mtc from the tascam.)
i was hoping to get the mtc directly from the tascam into the s2400.
there’s no tempo, so i am assuming i should stick to the internal clock on the s2400.
since there are is no din midi on the tascam, i have tried and connected the usb b to the usb host input on the s2400. i have tried to set that input up for proper receipt of mtc, but i’m not sure if it worked well. there’s a couple of things, i don’t understand. like if it is relevant what midi channel it’s on (i have no idea) and what the device number should be…
i have set up the usb h input to receive mmc, i have set the transport in to usb h (which i assume is unnecessary, sort of doubling the usb h settings…)
i don’t know what else to do, and in fact, if this could or should work at all.

any advice or help is much appreciated.
thanks.

Did you buy it from Ebay?

how is this relevant?

Because I just sold one there. Just wondering if you were the buyer really. That was all.

MTC is not transmitted and not recognized in the s2400.

i did not buy it from ebay, got it a year ago. i’m a light user.

thanks for the help. the problem has been solved. i have replaced the tascam with a good old korg d3200. less inputs, less aux sends, no sub group, menu diving for panning, eq and fx sends, but it’s so easy to use.
thanks again…
