I had a chance to log some hours this weekend with the new firmware and noticed a few bugs.
In Sample mode, after recording a sample, when I use one of the pads to play the newly recorded sample, it will give me the error “No Sound Assigned” and will not play the sample. I can still see the waveform from the sample I just recorded, but it won’t play. This has only happened when I am starting a project and the pads in the Bank I had selected prior to switching to sample mode were empty. The fix I found is to cycle through the Banks until I get to my Midi banks, and then I can play the sample as normal.
I have the same problem. After sampling, hitting the pads does not play the sample.
I have to save and assign it to an specific pad to play it. This renders the lazy chop in sample mode unusable.
My experience is, that if I am on Bank A or B and go to Sample mode it works as usual.
But if I go to Sample mode from Bank C or D it gives me the “No sound assigned” message when hitting pads. I will then have to cycle to Bank A or B to make it work.
It seems as if it will only play the sample recorded when in Sample Mode, for the pads where there is already loaded a sample to, meaning:
Example 1: For an empty project, it will give you the “No Sound Assigned” message for all the pads no matter which one you hit.
Example 2: For a project with samples loaded into e.g. Pad A1, A6, B1, B2 it will only play the sample recorded when you hit those specific pads. For all the other empty pads, it will give you the “No Sound Assigned” message.
My previous post described my second example. That is why I at first thought, it worked for Bank A and B but not C and D. Just discovered the above by coincidence.
@dave described it accurately on the post above. In Sample mode, the sample will not play back if you press an empty pad. It will only play the sample, in sample mode, when you press a pad that already has a sample loaded on it, or you press a pad on the midi banks.
I tried to upload a video to show the problem but looks like the forum doesn’t support the video file type for Android phones.
This bug is easy to replicate consistently for me though. Startup S2400 with nothing loaded onto the pads. Record sample. Press pad, no playback.
